Meadowlink Shared User Path

Eifers Civil was engaged by Hume City Council to transform a decommissioned rail siding in Broadmeadows into a vibrant, accessible open space corridor.

This project won the 2019 ʻHealthy Active By Design Awardʼ, an initiative by the Heart Foundation to enhance wellbeing, by encouraging physical activity, outdoor recreation and community interaction using innovative urban design.

The creation of 1.4km of shared pathway, designated seating, interactive Play Space, and significant landscaping works redefined an urban wasteland into an accessible, eco-friendly community space. Eifers Civil maintained the historical continuity of the site by repurposing elements of the 100-year-old railway.

Working under significant constraints, Eifers Civil completed night works on Blair Street, Dallas and used innovative volumetric cement mixers to reduce waste and minimise traffic shutdowns to the average daily volume of 17,000 vehicles using this major road.
