PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Kmart’s high-throughput distribution centre in Truganina needed defective pavement slabs repaired without disrupting operations. Eifers was re-engaged to deliver sixteen patch repairs using HESC concrete, restoring structural capacity and serviceability while protecting adjacent slabs. The work was completed inside tightly controlled shutdown windows for a continuously operating facility.

Scope

  • Joint inspection with the client to confirm repair extents across the warehouse pavement

  • Double saw cut to isolate defects and prevent spalling of adjacent slabs

  • Careful demolition and offsite recycling of existing concrete

  • Edge cleaning and inspection followed by base preparation and compaction with crushed rock

  • Installation of two layers of dowel bars and two layers of reinforcement mesh

  • Supply and placement of approximately forty eight cubic metres of HESC concrete via volumetric mixers

  • Slump testing at pour and cylinders cast for compressive strength verification

Outcomes

  • Sixteen slab patches completed inside the prescribed shutdowns without operational impact

  • Durable repairs with verified quality results and clean interfaces to existing pavement

  • Continued trust from the client supported by a multi year track record. From 2023 to July 2025 Eifers has successfully delivered more than seventy off patch repairs at this site
